Electec is one of the largest electrical retail and service businesses in the Caribbean, operating from Cole Bay since 1992. Located between Budget Marine and FKG on Waterfront Road, Cole Bay — at the heart of Sint Maarten's marine trades hub. Their factory-trained team works 6 days a week and is available for emergency repairs outside normal hours. Marine services include sales, service, installation and repair of electrical systems, generators, starter motors, alternators, AC/DC electromotors, wind generators, and power tools (Milwaukee and Makita). Electec can source any part from anywhere in the world. All work carries a 1-year warranty. Also covers land-based commercial and residential electrical services.

  I didn’t employ any services as I do my own electrical work. However, I had a Xantrax inverter/charger fail on me as soon as I arrived to SXM. That same day, I was able to dinghy over to their dock and buy everything I needed for a Victron Multiplus system. Since I was converting from Xantrax to Victron, I needed many accessories, all of which they had in stock so by that evening, I was up and running. Not having to wait for importation (as I am used to) and having everything available in different sizes was so convenient. For the price I paid, with all the accessories, it was still less than what I would have paid for just a new stand-alone Xantrax inverter/charger.
